Robb Ring was born and raised in California, living in Riverside County then Orange County.  During high school, he was blessed by the devoted teachers at Woodcrest Christian School in Riverside, who gave him the gift of the Gospel and instruction in the basics of the Christian faith.  Pastor Ring began serving in the pastoral ministry in 1994, initially in a non-Lutheran setting.   His vicarage was in the town of Lytle Creek, followed by a call to East Anaheim Christian Church where he served for almost 18 years.

After much prayer and study, Pastor Ring and the congregation at East Anaheim decided to make a unique transition into the confessional Lutheran church, initially through the Conservative Lutheran Association, and then merging into the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in 2014.  Some of those dear souls are here with us at Immanuel today.

During the colloquy process, Pastor Ring completed his doctorate at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His dissertation focused on the “Comprehension and Perception of Faith and Practice Within the Undergraduate Student Body of Concordia University Irvine”.

In addition to church work, Pastor Ring has served as a part-time professor, teaching Philosophy at Concordia University in Irvine.  After his undergraduate and graduate studies for ministry, Pastor Ring also completed a further 3 years of post-graduate study and a supervised practicum in Marriage & Family Counseling at Pacic Christian College School of Graduate Studies. He has also taught a variety of courses for Hope Intl. University’s Human Development program such as Adult Development, Childhood Development, Family Studies, Servant Leadership and Group/Organizational Dynamics.

Pastor Ring is married to his beloved wife Bethany.  Bethany is an attorney specializing in municipal entity/government defense.  Prior to law school, Bethany worked as a forensic scientist specializing in hydrologic engineering and holds two degrees in mathematics.  She is published in journals in both of her fields. In addition to their love for learning and the church, Pastor and Mrs. Ring are blessed to be raising three, wonderful boys, Austin, Zachary and Darren.
