Highlights
Immanuel
Lutheran School of Orange offers quality Christian education to
children who are ready for Kindergarten through 8th grade.
> Kindergarten to 8th Grade
> Full-day accredited academic programs
> Small class learning environment
> Focused Christian faith curriculum
We offer highly structured programs designed to give our students
quality instruction in all basic academic topics, including writing,
reading, mathematics, science, social studies and history. Small
classroom size (no more than 20 students per teacher) allows plenty
of individualized attention and instruction.
Our students learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ and His
love for them. We also offer extra-curricular activities in the
arts, music and sports.
Graduates of Immanuel Lutheran School are strong in their Christian
faith and are thoroughly prepared for their secondary school experience.
Nearly all of our students go on to earn degrees from top college
and universities all over the United States.
Under the tutorage of professional educators, our students are
equipped with the academic tools and spiritual strength they need
to attain whatever aspirations they seek in their adult lives.
Curriculum
Immanuel Lutheran School has developed a well-rounded and result-oriented
program for our students enrolled in Kindergarten through Eighth
Grades. Our educators offer professional instruction using the
latest learning techniques and teaching tools. Our learning environment
nurtures a strong appreciation for Christian ethics and virtues
through the Gospels, worship and praise.
Language Arts
Our educators combine the explicit instruction of phonics or
skills based approach, with the immersion in quality literature
advocated by the whole language approach. We look at each child
as an individual and tailor instruction to each student’s talents
such as our Accelerated Reading Program. Our educators use a
blend of materials, including the latest reading series programs,
picture and chapter books, poetry and Great Books. We emphasize
research-based strategies throughout the grades and stress critical
thinking skills through higher order questioning.
Mathematics
We use an inquiry based, problem solving, and real-world approach
to mathematics. Our approach is a time-proven standards-based
method that integrates math with science and language arts.
Our belief is that children learn best when engaged in problem-solving
exercises that utilize real-world contexts. In preparation for
high school, advance grade students are exposed to important
mathematical concepts, skills and procedures, thinking and reasoning
with numbers, geometry, measurement, algebra, probability and
statistics.
Science
We use hands-on science experiences to offer instruction in
a wide range of topics for meaningful science education. Our
educators prepare students for life in the 21st century with
structured programs, teacher created projects and real-world
exploration. We are also committed to developing an environmental
awareness in our students.
Social Studies
We use an integrated, project-based approach for the teaching
of Social Studies. Students explore history, cultures, economics,
and civics through textbooks, online research, the arts, and
literature. In advanced grades, students are introduced to context-based
social discussion to encourage critical thinking and develop
their analytical skills on social responsibility, government,
and citizenship.. When appropriate, our educators also introduce
Christian issue to help students garner a better understanding
of their place in the world.
A Well-rounded Program
We work with our parents to ensure that our students have access
to a high value and well-rounded educational experience. Students
are offered instruction in computer literacy, fine arts, and
the Spanish language. Students may also seek music literacy
from our extracurricular choral, handbell and band programs.
We also encourage participation in our girl’s and boy’s sports
programs.
